Founded in 1922, Pikes Peak United Way is a community-based, autonomous member organization of the United Way of America. It is a locally owned, independent organization that works to improve community conditions throughout El Paso and Teller counties in Colorado. The organization operates Campaign Council, a group of local community leaders who volunteer to help. Pikes Peak United Way organizes annual fundraising campaigns. Pikes Peak United Way provides food, shelter, and case management and counseling services to women escaping family violence. It also offers child care and transportation services for homeless individuals for a period of 24-hours. In addition, the organization provides home-delivered meals to seniors who can't afford it. Pikes Peak United Way is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.
