About Palmer Land Trust Palmer Land Trust is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) nonprofit organization working to preserve important open lands in southeastern Colorado. Since 1977, we have helped individuals and communities protect over 70, 000 acres of farms and ranches, wildlife habitat, scenic corridors, and public open spaces. Our mission is to guarantee that open lands remain a part of southeastern Colorado's heritage. We have a proven track record of success and are today the largest, private, local conservation organization in the United States based on conserved acreage holdings. Our continued success depends largely on you. Join us. Help us to achieve our vision of a southeastern Colorado landscape forever defined by majestic views of the mountains and plains, urban areas rich with interconnected open spaces and parks, working rural landscapes with few pockets of development, and landscape linkages that support wildlife and local agriculture.
