The Outdoor Lab Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Wheat Ridge, CO, dedicated to supporting the Jefferson County Schools Outdoor Lab Program. With a mission to inspire community support and advocate for the program, the foundation provides small grants for capital improvements and special initiatives, while also prioritizing strategic initiatives such as tuition assistance, intern programs, high school leader programs, and site support.
For over 60 years, the Outdoor Lab Program has been offering week-long residential camp experiences in the mountains for approximately 5,000 Jeffco sixth-graders each year. By integrating proven youth development models and experiential education, the program aims to help students realize their leadership potential, develop life skills, and foster a commitment to environmental stewardship. Through a safe and supportive environment, Outdoor Lab empowers students to enhance their understanding of the natural world and their place in it, while promoting personal growth, teamwork, and a passion for lifelong learning.
