These are not photographs and they are not created on the computer. These are pen & ink drawings created by Scott using the technique known as STIPPELING or pointillism. It is the process of creating a drawing using only tiny dots of ink. They're all done by hand, every single tiny dot. Scotty creates these illustrations working through a magnifying glass and using a 0.18mm Rotring technical drawing pen. Only one size of pen is used so the density of the dots causes the change in tone. Each drawing is done on acid free illustration board. Each art print of Scott's highly detailed pen and ink drawings of trains and railroad equipment is available in a variety of frame combinations.
