I have been continuously involved in the Painting/Decorating trades since 1984, when I was accepted into the Philadelphia Painters Union Apprentice Program. It was a three-year/6000 hour program which I completed in April 1987. My apprenticeship covered all aspects of the painting trade. I was trained and tested in the safe and proper usage of ladders, scaffolding, abrasive blasting (both sand and water), the proper application of paint coatings (epoxy, oil and latex) , how to apply stains, lacquers, and top coats. I was also trained to tape and finish drywall as well as apply wallpaper and Faux Finishes. During the past 29 years, I have worked in every conceivable type of painting environment: from extremely high end homes to office space, retail stores, shopping malls, water tanks, oil refineries, and sewerage plants.
