Head Start is one of the leading early childhood education programs in the United States. It serves the children of ages 3 to 5 of low-income families. Head Start focuses on the emotional, physical and social development of children. It works in partnership with parents to prepare children for success in school. Head Start assists parents in raising their children. It operates a range of academic and enrichment programs. Head Start services are offered by Community Partnership for Child Development, which was founded in 1987 and offers a variety of support services for young children and their families in El Paso County in Colorado.
