Welcome! Grand View Animal Hospital, located in beautiful western Colorado, is a full service hospital specializing in the needs of small companion animals. From well visits to diagnostic services, dentals, and surgery, we offer complete care for your pet. We are located off of the I-70 Business Loop in Grand Junction, CO, east of Dairy Queen on 30 Rd. We look forward to seeing you! Our Name: The name Grand View is inspired by the beauty that surrounds us. Grand Junction is located in a valley, surrounded by various geographical landforms. Grand Mesa, the Bookcliffs, and Colorado National Monument grace the horizon in each of 3 directions. Our Staff: Dr. TerLouw graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2002. He began his veterinary career in Arizona, moving back to Colorado in 2006, and has been practicing in the Grand Junction area ever since. Dr. TerLouw is pleased to continue providing care to area pets as the owner of Grand View Animal Hospital. Wellness Exams: Annual visits provide important points of reference in the overall care of your pet. Whether maintaining quality of life, or catching an underlying issue early, we desire to help you provide the very best for your animal. Spay & Neuter: There are many reasons to spay or neuter your pet, including helping them to live a long and happy life. Contact us to discuss other benefits of your pet's spay or neuter. Dental Care: Ask us about ways to keep your pets' mouth healthy, including brushing, special diets, and dentistry. With the use of a digital dental x-ray unit, we are able to diagnose issues hiding under the gum line. We also offer tooth bonding as an alternative to removing teeth, depending upon the amount of damage present. Vaccinations: Vaccinations are an important part of keeping your pet healthy. We will discuss your pet's lifestyle and only give those that meet the needs of your pet. Surgery: We offer a full range of both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, including the TPLO procedure for knees. Contact us if you would like to discuss surgery options for your pet. Microchipping: Every year, thousands of pets are reunited with their owners with the help of microchipping. We offer Home Again Microchips to aid in the recovery of your pet in the event that they are lost. Radiology: Our state-of-the-art, high definition, digital x-ray machine aids in the accurate diagnosis of many problems. Before deciding on the best course of treatment for your pet, an x-ray may be necessary to confirm, or rule out, certain conditions. In-house bloodwork: Our in-house laboratory equipment enables us to identify certain problems within 20-30 minutes, and therefore start treatment the same day as your visit, rather than waiting 1-3 days for results from an outside laboratory. Boarding: We offer boarding options for cats and dogs of all sizes. Our newly remodeled small dog area contains mini-runs, rather than cages. Come by for a tour! Emergency Care: We are available to take emergencies during normal business hours. For an after-hours emergency, contact the Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency Clinic at 255-1911.
