Founded in 1957, Fremont Correctional Facility (FCF) is a 1,600-plus-bed center governed by the Colorado Department of Corrections. It is a Level 3 institution that houses male offenders. The center has a staff of more than 400 professionals. Fremont Correctional Facility is spread over an area of nearly 542,000 square feet. It offers a variety of work assignments and programs to assist offenders in making positive changes. The Colorado Department of Corrections also operates the Colorado Correctional Center, La Vista Correctional Facility, Colorado Women's Correctional Facility and Crowley County Correctional Facility. The department provides a range of academic, vocational and transitional services.
