After serving the people of the State of Colorado as Assistant Attorney General, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance and Director of the Division of Real Estate for 13 years, I decided I wanted more freedom to do what I felt was right. The type of work and remedies are very limited by statute in government. Now, I can select cases where people or companies have been harmed and get compensation for them. On the real estate side, I can help buyers and sellers from getting in trouble in the first place. For example, most homeowners do not make a title insurance claim for about 8 years after they buy their home. That's when they learn they should have had a lawyer review their title work before the closing.
Specialties
-My specialty is providing legal counsel during residential real estate transactions. Buyers and sellers do not recognize how important it is to have a lawyer review their title commitment, contracts and closing papers until it is too late and they find themselves involved in an expensive lawsuit. I charge a flat fee. -My main business is as an expert witness for lawyers in title insurance and real estate cases, among others -I'm also a real estate broker and buy and sell homes. I am uniquely qualified to provide all of the above services as the former head of the state agencies that regulated real estate and deputy commissioner of insurance.
