HistoryThe casino's building, established in the 1800s, has housed several businesses over the past 150 years. The building is believed to have originally been home to a wagon manufacturer in the 19th century. Over the course of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the building housed an eclectic assortment of establishments, including a blacksmith shop and a livery. In later years, the historic Black Hawk building was restored and made into a store and an art studio. Then, in 1993, the property was renovated once again to become a casino. As a nod to the property's historic nature, Bull Durham Saloon and Casino was famously named after the billboard painted on the side of the building in 1912.
