History
I come from a family of artists that span many generations and forms. My maternal grandmother was one of my biggest inspirations in my love and study of art. In 2012 I was facing many life challenges with one the biggest ones being low self esteem. On top of that my maternal grandmother lost her battle to Lymphoma. It was one of the lowest times in my life and I knew that there was something that I had to do to change my condition. In November of 2012 my husband and I visited to Trinidad and Tobago with the intention of studying and living there with our small children the following year. This trip was just what I needed. On the last day of our visit in Trinidad I bought some henna cones. At the time I knew nothing about henna but I was determined to keep trying new things. So when I got back to Colorado I started my henna journey. And with the inspiration of my paternal grandmother, owning her own business, I started Beleza Artistica in March 2013.
