Established in 1996, ADA-ES commercialized a cost-effective flue gas conditioning technology for industries that use electrostatic precipitators and baghouses for particulate control. This technology improved the ability of utilities and refineries to meet clean air standards without expensive modification or replacement of equipment. ADA-ES developed this technology with funding from the United States Department of Energy and Electric Power Research Institute. In September 2003, ADA-ES spun off from its parent company, Earth Sciences, and began trading publicly. ADA-ES' common stock, which had traded on the OTC Bulletin Board since the company spun-off from ESI, began trading on the NASDAQ Small Cap Market in October 2004 under the ticker symbol ADES. ADA-ES has also developed a solution for slag-tapping problems that enables cyclone boilers to fire PRB coals, is at the forefront of mercury control for coal-fired boilers and provides mercury measurement products and services. The company is located in Littleton, Colo.
