Amazing Times, LLC is based in Longmont, Colorado. Our historical summer camps are held in local public parks. The camps are for students 7 years old and up. Students get immersed in a specific time period to learn history and mythology based on the Core Knowledge sequence, a nationally established school curriculum. Amazing Times teaches history and mythology in an exciting hands-on environment. First, students create a historical character. Then they support their character by making authentic arts and crafts using real tools. Once fully in character, students are taught how to battle game: types of foam weapons, the importance of safety gear and rules for compassionate combat. Finally, students travel throughout the imagined world to engage in games of exploration and conquest. The dueling foam swords, shields and souvenir t-shirts our students make are theirs to keep and enjoy--as are all the historical facts and mythological stories they learned along their journey.
