Established in 1976, Alternative Homes for Youth is an organization serving youth with problems such as mental health, misconduct, drug and alcohol addiction and state offenses. Its programs include residential treatment, drug and alcohol therapies, alternative educational programs and intensive individual, group and family therapies. It also offers clinical and educations assessments, recreational programs and psychological and medical evaluations, including urinalysis. Its offense specific program provides on-site education, victim empathy and awareness, self-esteem building, relapse prevention plan and 24-hour secured residence facility with supervision. Alternative Homes serves more than 20 counties in Colorado and has offices in Thornton and Greeley, Colo.
