Resources which support SPACe include community volunteers, membership dues, donations, booth fees from the annual Art in the Park festival and a percent of sales of artwork in the Gallery and Gallery Gift Shop. We are sad to report that one of the founders of the art community in La Veta, Margie Bradley, has passed away. A memorial service will be held June 13, 2010 at the La Veta Community Center. The Spanish Peaks Arts Council ( SPACe ) promotes and encourages public appreciation, education and awareness of the arts in all its forms, and assists individuals to achieve their artistic objectives, in the Spanish Peaks region of southern Colorado. A donation of $5 for the DVD goes to the Building Expansion Fund. There is also an assortment of cards donated by artists to benefit the BEF, as well as handmade Christmas ornaments. Trinidad State Junior College, located in a more than 20-acre campus in Trinidad, Colo., offers programs in more than 50 academic areas, as well as a variety of student activities and athletic programs. Its associate of arts program provides students with courses of study in the arts, humanities, social and behavioral science, and professional fields, including art, creative writing, accounting, business management, journalism and theater.
