History
I have 40 years of experience working in this field. After earning a BA degree from Berkeley in philosophy, I worked with youth who had run away from home as a paraprofessional counselor in a residential program. I earned an MSW at UCLA and then began a career as a clinical social worker, writer, researcher, and professor. I started a small private practice in San Francisco in 1984 which grew into a full time practice within a couple of years. In 1997, I returned to school to earn a Ph.D. in clinical social work, and in 2003 began training to become a Jungian psychoanalyst. In 2009 I was certified as an analyst and in 2016 was awarded a second certification as a child and adolescent analyst.
Specialties
I specialize in psychotherapy in depth and Jungian analysis with children, adolescents and adults - both individuals and couples. My approach is practical in ways that also invite exploration of the deeper unrevealed dimensions of inner life.
