History
We were inspired to open a fitness studio after graduating from college. We lived in the Haight with several roommate and worked out using free weights and a stability ball in our living room. We felt all of the gym options were lacking. Some were too macho, others were dirty and most were crowded. We sought to create a clean and welcoming environment to exercise and listen to good music (lounge, electronic, deep house, hip hop) with like-minded professionals. Fast forward a few years and we had the experience and business plan to execute our concept. When we first opened in the Mission (cool neighborhood, diverse people) we were more of a full service gym offering strength, dance, yoga, Pilates and barre. In 2015 we began to focus exclusively on Strength. Now we have a diverse offering of strength training classes. Our All Level/Fundamental classes are Ball Method and Body Sculpt. YuFit, YuFix and YuSweat are high intensity and incorporate cardio.

YuBalance Strength Training Studio provides Personal Training & Group Fitness Classes. Our fun & efficient full body workouts are designed to build lean muscle, reduce fat & improve cardio-endurance. We use free weights, body weight movements & minimal equipment to target every major muscle group. Our effective program designed to sculpt & stretch your body, will improve your physique, posture, confidence & overall wellbeing with minimal time commitment. Whether your goals are to lose weight or get into the 'best shape of your life,' our experienced Personal Trainers will design challenging & effective workout plans based on your specific needs & desires. Utilizing an intelligent, efficient & practical approach to health & fitness, we help clients achieve sustain their fitness. Classes are small by design so we can learn your name, understand your goals & help you progress. Our 40-50 minutes classes, with new monthly workouts & playlists include: Body Sculpt: Build confidence, strength & define your muscles this full body circuit. Ball Method: Target your core, stretch your hips, & tone your backside using a Swiss ball & free weights. YuFit: A progression of non-stop circuits, each one targeting specific muscle groups using a variety of body-weight movements, free weights, resistance bands. YuFix: Strengthen & tone your legs, butt & core with variations of Pilates & free weights. YuSweat: A cardio class combining high intensity interval training & Tabata style workouts.
