Two bridges cross Dry Creek in the celebrated wine growing region, and the Yoakim Bridge is the farther north, deeper in the valley. At the crossroads with Dry Creek Road is this small vineyard of 40-year old grapevines, venerable enough to qualify as "old vine." In the mid-1990s owners Virginia Morgan and David Cooper purchased the five-acre property, and its 1886 Victoria farmhouse, to produce small lots of deeply flavorful wines (as well as Virginia's zinfandel barbecue sauce). Total production is about 2,500 cases (100 barrels). While zinfandel is the obvious favorite, the merlot and syrah (sourced from other Dry Creek vineyards) each have a devoted following. The tasting room, located in a small verdant garden, is open only on weekends, and both Virginia and David are usually on hand.
