Yamato serves Japanese cuisine in the center of the Westwood Village. The restaurant is located in perhaps the most prominent building in the village, designed by Edwin and Harold Janss in 1929 as their headquarters while they designed and built the Mediterranean style buildings that occupy most of the Westwood Village. Inside, guests dine in a white, contemporary dining room beneath the rotunda high above. There is a full bar, which has discounts on appetizers during Happy Hour, from 5pm - 7pm. There are also seating in an area upstairs and on the sidewalk on the Broxton side of the building. The menu is full of various sushi and sashimi dishes, with some hot and grilled foods, as well. Yamato has four other locations in the Los Angeles area.
