Established in 1871, The Woodland Police Department is a law enforcement agency that works to enforce laws, preserve peace, and protect lives and property, as well as safeguard civil rights. It employs more than 70 sworn police officers and over 25 support employees. The department operates operations and special operations divisions. The Woodland Police Department maintains an administration division that is responsible for oversight, recruitment, planning, financial management, media relations, internal investigations, crime analysis, records management and youth diversion. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an educational classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The department works under the government of the city of Woodland in California.
