The nonprofit WIC Program has been providing women's, infants and children's services in the Los Angeles area, including the Orange and San Bernardino Counties, for more than 30 years. The program serves pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to 5 years old in low income families. WIC provides free supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and education and other support services. WIC provides healthy eating alternatives including fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain foods. Clients are given vouchers on a monthly basis to redeem at participating grocery stores or at WIC food dispensaries located throughout the county.
