The Sutter County Sheriff's Department s mission is to provide policing services to the communities of Sutter County in California. Headquartered in Yuba City, Calif., the department is committed to the protection of life, property and the rights of citizens in a fair, impartial and positive manner. It is organized into patrol, detective, support and jail divisions. The patrol division has a combined force of more than 50 sworn officers, including deputies, sergeants and a captain. This division also has boat patrol and school resource officer duties. The detective division is responsible for felony investigations, coroner investigations, internal investigations and handling public administration cases. The support division includes the dispatch center, records division, civil division and training. The jail division has more than 50 correctional officers that operate the 250-bed jail in Yuba City. Combined, the Sutter County Sheriff s Department has more than 100 full-time officers.
