History
2 friends, Kathy and Lora, started working on the farmers market a year before it opened. The Smyrna 7th Day Adventist church was happy to lend us their parking lot and to sponsor us at that time. We applied and received a grant from Kaiser Permenente and managed to figure all the rest out so we could bring something good to this sometimes forgotten neighborhood. Our goal was to meet our neighbors and have our neighbors meet each other, and to provide high quality, healthy food to our community. We since have started our own non-profit 501c3 called the Healthy Community Project.
