The city opened the Water Resource Center in November 2009. The "green" building won an architectural award in 2010 for being a top-10 green project.
The center is near the Wastewater Treatment Facility, at 401 Panabaker Ln., where 6 million gallons of wastewater is treated daily. The water comes from residential, commercial and industrial sources.
