In 1969, Al Falchi converted a former San Francisco longshoremen's bar into the Waterfront Restaurant. A mile from Fisherman's Wharf, it soon became a favorite of local politicians and business people. In time, local and foreign visitors were attracted to its view of the bay. In 1997, Falchi committed to a multimillion-dollar renovation to transform Waterfront Restaurant into one of San Francisco's foremost dining destinations. The restaurant has a history of serving dignitaries and celebrities visiting and residing in the San Francisco Bay area. The restaurant s menu features wild Hawaiian escolar, grilled wild halibut, grilled salmon, margherita pizza, prawn and sausage pizza, shellfish and sole.
