History
The Vallejo Convention & Visitors Bureau (VCVB) was formed in 1987 under the auspices of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce and in conjunction with the opening of Marine World-Africa USA (now Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). In 1990, the VCVB separated from the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce to become its own organization and moved to the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. In addition to the promotion of tourism in Vallejo, the VCVB has also operated the Visitors (Tourist) Information Center in the Vallejo Ferry Terminal assisting visitors traveling by ferry boat to and from San Francisco as well as assisting tourists arriving by ground transportation as directed by signage along Interstate 80 and 780 and along major streets in Vallejo. The Vallejo Convention & Visitors Bureau is an independent, incorporated, non-profit 501 (c) (6) designated organization dedicated to promoting tourism, meetings and conferences in the Vallejo area.
