The Veteran's Memorial Building was about to be demolished about 5 years ago when Jack O' Leary, a WWII veteran who also helps with the American Legion Louis Hagen Post 340, pulled together his resources and helped to restore the building to keep it from being demolished because of damages. The building is now in excellent condition because of Jack's hard work and is rented out to various organizations for use throughout the year.
The Veteran's Memorial Building Association is its own entity responsible for setting rules, maintaining upkeep and authorizing repairs made to the Veteran's Memorial Building. Anyone who wishes to use the building can contact the group for rates.
