The non-profit organization is located in a historic building and offers federally approved classes and guidance for first-time homebuyers, financial education, help with credit rebuilding and city-sponsored down payment assistance. Other programs assist homeowners facing below market rate resales and other types of distress. It also offers free income tax preparation for seniors and people with an AGI of less than $52,000 a year. Workshops are held here and throughout southeastern Alameda County. Vehicle access to the building, which sits above the Livermore Avenue underpass, is tricky: the best way is to drive from the west via Oak Street South. Parking is on the side of the building.
