HistoryThe Humanitravels Story My name is Alex and I founded Humanitravels with my partner, Tom. We both lived in Latin America for an extensive period. We fell in love with the chaos, colors, striking landscapes and warm people that characterize the region. We also saw the poverty and environmental destruction that exists right alongside. The two of us sat down and thought about the best way to help. Together we came up with an idea: a volunteer tourism agency that would connect the First and Third world. Through the cultural exchange a greater understanding could be reached. With this understanding the world could be changed. Sick of 1-800 numbers and endless run-arounds we decided to make Humanitravels local and personalized. We would go the route of knowing our customers inside and out and treating them as friends. Instead of trying to conquer the world we would conquer the Bay Area. So we moved to San Francisco and set to work. We are your local volunteer travel agency and make sure that every customer gets to know us and we get to know them.
