HistoryTierrasanta Futbol Academy/Total Futbol Academy - TFA was established to serve the youth soccer players of Tierrasanta/Murphy Canyon/Serra Mesa and nearby areas with the opportunity to receive quality soccer training from professional coaches at a much more reasonable cost than other San Diego Soccer Clubs. Teams were previously part of AYSO Matrix program but had a rigid philosophy of using only volunteer parent coaches for competitive teams. This model was useful for the recreational program, but players wishing to play at a higher level and compete with other competitive club teams were at a disadvantage due to a lack of competent training. Knowledgeable training is key for the development of the players. A group of AYSO administrators, parents and coaches banded together to create TFASD.
