This Santee business networking organization supports the city's thriving business district. The Chamber puts on two annual outdoor fairs, the Santee Car Show and the Santee Street Fair, co-sponsors the annual Miss Santee and Miss Santee Teen Pageant, the annual Taste of Santee event, along with an Awards Night, and other smaller happenings throughout the year. Their biggest event, the Street Fair attracted more than 40,000 visitors last year, and features more than 300 booths. The Chamber's "Shop Santee" effort has been particularly effective in that the city's sales tax revenues have risen slightly at a time when such taxes are dropping in other cities.
