History
Tara Home is a nondenominational organization established in 2002 by Lennie Kronisch and Petra McWilliam (Venerable Tenzin Chogkyi) to fill the pressing need for a local-community end-of-life residential care home that brings to modern-day society the practical application of Buddha's teachings on death and dying. Email info@tarahome.org to learn about volunteering or to share the need of someone who has entered the last stages of life and wishes to live out their remaining time at Tara Home.
Specialties
Tara Home is a cozy cabin in the redwoods at Land of Medicine Buddha for a hospice patient near the end of life. Round the clock volunteers offer compassionate care whose mission it is to create a safe and peaceful environment in which the dying, their loved ones, and their caregivers can understand and experience death and the dying process as a unique opportunity for making their lives more meaningful and fulfilling.
