Superior California Economic Development provides assistance in economic development planning, coordination and implementation and provides small business training, counseling and financing assistance with the goal of creating stable, long-term employment opportunities in the private sector economy. Business Loans Small businesses in Butte, Tehama, Modoc, Shasta, Trinity, Siskiyou, Humboldt and Del Norte Counties Business Start Up Assistance SCED assists income-eligible microentrepreneurs start and grow their businesses through innovative workshops and one-on-one counseling focusing on business development, marketing and businesses planning. Commercial Real Estate Loans By participating in the SBA 504 loan program, SCED is eligible to finance 90% owner-occupied commercial real estate. The increased level of financing allows for more small businesses to stop leasing and start owning their commercial real estate. Business Loans SCED serves as a non-traditional financing source for existing and start-up businesses, whose financing needs are under serviced by traditional lending institutions. Economic Development Planning Technical Assistance Projects - SCED representatives provide technical assistance in developing grant proposals for economic development projects. Other assistance includes acting as an intermediately or liaison between businesses, community groups and state and federal agencies. Community Planning and Strategizing - SCED representatives work with community action groups to plan and strategize for the future. These plans often lead to specific projects which SCED representatives assist in implementing. Demographic & Economic Information - SCED can provide businesses, community groups, and others information regarding the economic climate of the four counties encompassed in Economic Development District.
