History
The Stowell Learning Center was established in 1984 to help bright but struggling students become confident, independent learners. In the past 35 years we have helped thousands of children and adults with dyslexia and other learning differences or attention challenges become successful learners. In 2010, The Stowell Learning Center opened a second location in Irvine and now serves the Orange County communities of Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Tustin, Orange, Santa Ana, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Foothill Ranch, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Westminster, and surrounding areas! In 2019, The Stowell Learning Center opened its third location in Pasadena, CA., serving Pasadena, La Canada, San Marina, Glendale, Sierra Madre, Arcadia, and surrounding areas. Stowell Learning Center, Thousand Oaks opened in October 2019 to serve Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Ventura, Westlake, Camarillo, and surrounding communities.
Specialties
We are currently seeing students through both on-site and virtual screenings and sessions. When reading or school is not going well, parents look to tutoring as a solution. But tutoring often doesn't work. Most learning challenges including auditory processing, dyslexia, ADD or ADHD can be permanently changed. At Stowell Learning Center, we do MORE than tutor. We help children and adults dramatically improve or correct their learning challenges. We provide cognitive and educational training to children and adults with learning differences and attention challenges including: * Smart underachieving students * Dyslexia * Learning disabilities * Auditory Processing Disorders * ADD / ADHD / Attention challenges * Poor reading, decoding, or spelling * Low test scores * Poor grades * Anxiety / Test anxiety * Poor comprehension * Weak oral or written expressive language * Math and Dyscalculia * Poor organization and study skills * Poor critical thinking skills * Weak executive function skills * Dysgraphia * Autism Spectrum Disorders
