Since his very first job tossing pizzas at 16, S&G owner, Joel R., dreamed of opening his own restaurant. After a decade of food experience while putting himself through college, he spent another decade finance and high-tech sales, never losing sight of his goal. In 2014, while looking for a commerical kitchen to support a growing wing-catering business, he found a local taco joint for sale and built a family-run grub joint for he and his son's to operate. Stewart & Grub is housed in a googie architecture original, once home to one of the first 'Orange Julius' in the country. At a time when it's more common to convert a small place into a taco stand, they fully restored and upgraded this once famed local landmark as a tribute to Downey's historic entreprenurial start-ups. In a space smaller than the standard American garage, they can pump out loads of great grub daily: wings, burgers, fries, and classic American faire.

It's not a complicated concept: At Stewart & Grub we offer our guests sit-down restaurant quality American comfort foods on sub-gourmet budget. We opened our doors for our wings, specifically the Sweet Thai Chili, but the burgers (designed as an afterthought to be as good as the wings) sell off the hook. So whether you want to get your
