Republican Mark Wyland is California's State Senator for the 38th District, which includes a sliver of South Orange County: San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
Wyland sat on the Escondido Union School District Board from 1997 to 2000 before entering state government. In 2000, he was elected to the State Assembly to represent the 74th Assembly District and in 2006 he was elected to the state senate.
His Orange County satellite office is in San Juan Capistrano on the west end, parallel to the 5 freeway, of a large business park. The entrance is on the first floor, but the office itself is located atop a long flight of stairs.
The office is staffed by one person, so it's recommended that constituents make appointments before stopping in for a visit. Although foot traffic though this office is rare, most talking points are related to the DMV and unemployment benefits.
