St. Simon School was established in 1961. It is a co-educational Catholic school of more than 560 students, K through 8th grades. The curriculum is described as a dynamic program intended to educate the "whole child in an environment that supports the harmonious development of each child's spiritual, intellectual, psychological, social and physical growth." The religion program is given a preeminent place. Optional enrichment programs include band, choir, alter serving, Student Council, Girl Scouts and others. After-school sports for Grades 4-8 ar also available for boys and girls.
For those interested in admissions, open House is held during Catholic Schools' week in late January. Applications for admission are submitted in February.
St. Simon Children's Cathechetical Ministry (CCM) applies its faith and practices to a curriculum designed for kids in grades 1 through 5. The non-academic program is community-based, and intended to enhance children's understanding of and participation in the Catholic faith. The sessions are taught by parents and members of the community who have been trained as parish catechists.
