The Spice Station opened on Santa Monica's Main Street, across from the community garden between Strand and Pacific, in 2010. The store is serious about its spices and teas: It carries more than 250 spices and herbs, and more than 60 teas from all over the globe. Customers will find common and rare spices at this store, including Spanish saffron, chile arbol from Mexico, lemon grass from Thailand and amchoor from India. Prices range from $12 a pound to $150 a pound for the more esoteric spices.
The extensive list of teas is also impressive and includes varieties of black, herbal, green, white and red teas. Its website is currently under construction, but visit the website to its sister store in Silverlake for more information.
