The Santa Monica-Malibu Adult Education Center is located on the campus of Olympic High School. The Center, which is sponsored by the California Department of Education, offers a wide variety of classes for older residents of the Santa Monica community.
The school is part of an effort across California to develop skilled workers, caring family members and wise consumers of every age.
Programs include basic literacy, citizenship, computer literacy, English as a second language, GED preparation, GED testing, and high school diploma.
Community-education classes include arts, Excel workshop, health and fitness, jewelry, PowerPoint workshop, test preparation and video editing. Those classes are financed entirely by student fees.
The Santa Monica-Malibu Adult Education Center also features a fundamental skills center, a high school learning center and a math learning center.
