Skyline Wilderness Park was established in 1979. Its 900 acres of land was originally the surplus of Napa State Hospital. The nonprofit Skyline Park Citizens' Association was formed to operate, maintain and improve the park. Skyline features an RV park, a picnic area, a horse arena, a tent camping area and the Martha Walker Native Habitat Garden. Archery and disc golf ranges are also on-site. Meandering along the Marie Creek watershed, the park offers 20 miles of trails and is open daily year-round. Dogs are welcomed in designated areas but not on the trails. The park has been available to visitors since February 1980.
