History
Shimeru is owned by Coach Patrick, a third-generation judoka who holds black belts in both judo and jiu jitsu. His grandfather began judo more than 60 years ago and it has continued down through four generations, with Coach Patrick's children the latest to represent the family tradition. Coach Patrick began jiu jitsu to compliment his judo back in 2002, fell in love with the martial art, and earned his black belt through Carlson Gracie Team. Now he has opened Shimeru to spread judo and Carlson Gracie jiu jitsu to Lake Elsinore and the surrounding community.
