History
As a homeschooling mom, having a home Shiatsu practice gives me the flexibility and freedom that work with my son requires. It also allows me to stay connected to my love of the body, touch and physical connection, while meeting my need for contribution and connection to others.
Specialties
Shiatsu is a clothes-on Asian bodywork therapy that stimulates the energy flows of the body with a combination of deep, rhythmic pressure & passive stretching. Working on a futon on the floor, I begin most sessions with my client face up. Starting on the abdomen - the energetic and physical center of the body - I always work the entire body, paying special attention to specific areas of concern for each client. Shiatsu: * Promotes deep relaxation, stress relief, & a general increase of well-being; * Supports mind-body connection; * Releases muscle tension; * Improves circulation to the blood & lymph; * Helps with conditions such as: stiff or frozen shoulders, sciatica, digestive problems, headaches, insomnia, & many others; * Assists with release of mental/emotional blockages. To prepare for a session, wear loose, comfortable clothing - preferably without buttons, zippers, heavy seams, hooks, or underwire - and come with a belly that is neither full nor empty.
