History
Founded in 2004 as a free emergency food delivery service operated out of a rental storage unit, by 2005 Shepherds Pantry needed a walk-in-food facility and leadership to help develop their pantry operations. The team looked to Cory's Kitchen which was established in 2001in Irwindale. Cory's Kitchen's culture encompassed emotional and spiritual support in addition to providing food; this approach was incorporated into Shepherds Pantry operations. In 2019 the two food pantries merged into the company now known as Shepherds Pantry with locations in Glendora, Irwindale and Baldwin Park. Shepherds Pantry is dedicated to the values of community, service, and faith, with respect, and compassion shown to those we serve. Congresswoman Judy Chu presented Shepherds Pantry with the 2013 Outstanding Non-Profit of the Year award.
