History
At Sheba, you can kick back and bask in the warmth of a fire and friendly surroundings. The restaurant and lounge have a sultry, relaxing ambiance complete with walls hand-painted in rich tropical tones. In the center of the restaurant is a wall built to resemble the rock-cut Bet Giorgis church in Lalibela, Ethiopia. Live music begins nightly at 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, drawing a late-night crowd that enjoys owners Netsanet and Israel Alemayehu's African nights inspired cocktail menu. The cocktail list includes ethnic twists on classics such as the Red Sea, an Ethiopian-style Bloody Mary spiced with sherry and mitmita spices. Cocktail, Dinner and Lounge menus are all available at all hours Sheba Piano Lounge is open. In the early evening, the restaurant caters to a relaxed dinner crowd, which feasts on Executive Chef Netsanet Alemayehu's dinner menu of dishes served atop Ethiopia's indigenous bread, injera.
