Shasta High School is an American public high school located in Redding, Calif. The school provides educational instruction to students from grades nine through 12 and has an enrollment of more than 1,700 students. It offers language classes in French, Spanish, and American Sign Language. It also offers Chinese classes through University Preparation School. The school is well known for its advanced placement department that provides programs in English composition and literature, United States history, government and politics, macroeconomics, psychology, biology, physics, French, Spanish, statistics and calculus. Shasta also offers a Medical Career Magnet program for students interested in medical careers. The school has a variety of sports teams, including basketball, football, baseball, swimming, skiing and snowboarding, track and field, cross country, golf, tennis and wrestling. It also participates in the National Science Bowl competition. Shasta High School is a part of the Shasta Union High School District.
