The Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter. According to the shelter's website, its mission is to aid lost or abandoned pets and to promote responsible ownership, education and population control. The shelter houses cats and dogs and is largely dependent on its core of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help care for the pets and facilities and walk dogs throughout the day. The shelter has a detailed process to make sure that responsible owners adopt its animals. It also has a foster program where volunteers care for animals, such as kittens, until they are old enough to be adopted. To donate or volunteer, contact the center at (562) 430-4993 or email contact@sbacc.org.
