History

The Santa Maria Rifle Club began in 1928. Through the years it has moved to several locations as the town was built out, and changed the name to Santa Maria Gun Club to reflect a broader focus on all shooting sports.

Specialties

SMGC is a non-profit corp established in 1928 to support and promote safe gun handling and shooting and archery sports. We have free instruction for beginners in shotgun and pistol handling. Archery lessons coming soon. We have Santa Maria Valley's only trap range and an 8-lane indoor pistol range. Indoor (Tues nights) and outdoor (when trap fields are open) archery ranges are available.
