Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA) is a public water wholesaler that provides about half of the water that Santa Clarita households and businesses use. The organization operates three treatment plants, three pump stations, three storage facilities, and more than 45 miles of transmission pipelines. It supplements local groundwater supplies with State Water Project water from Northern California. This water is treated and delivered to the Santa Clarita Valley's four local water purveyors: Los Angeles County Waterworks District No. 36, Newhall County Waterworks District, Santa Clarita Water Division, and Valencia Water Company.
