San Marcos High School serves a population of 1,500 students in grades nine through 12. The school provides various courses, including genetics, TV news production, computer-assisted drafting, digital video production and computer animation. It has a telecommunications department that teaches students high-end computer skills and Internet usages. San Marcos High School offers advanced placement classes in various subjects, including biology, physical science, chemistry, astronomy, geology and physics. It also offers classes in instrumental music that includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, percussion, piano and guitar.
