Peter Burnett Academy, formerly known as Peter Burnett Middle School, provides the middle years program of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The program focuses on five areas of interaction, including approaches to learning; community and service; environment; health and social education; and Homo Faber. The academy s curriculum covers various subjects that include English and language arts, world languages, technology, fine arts, mathematics, science, humanities and physical education. It also provides additional instruction in instrumental music and studio and digital art. The academy offers opportunity to students to participate in various social clubs and extracurricular activities, including sports. Peter Burnett Academy s mascot is a bear and is located in San Jose, Calif.
